Heart Lake Resort Cottages is an out-of-the-way place, but one can also find themselves in the Alpine Village of Gaylord only a ten minute drive to the north. Gaylord and the surrounding area boast many fine golf courses, unique shops, restaurants and taverns. Alpenfest is hosted in July and Winterfest is hosted in February.

Canoeing, horseback riding, golf, elk herd viewing and fishing are just a few of the unlimited outdoor recreation possibilities that can make for fun filled day trips. Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey, Mackinaw City and Mackinaw Island are approximately one hour away.

Winter activities are right out your door. We are adjacent to a well groomed State snowmobile trail. Multiple Downhill and Cross Country ski areas can also be found within a short distance.
